What is the certification SOC 2 ?
SOC 2 (Service Organization Control 2) certification, developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), evaluates an organization’s ability to manage risks associated with the security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy of data it processes for clients.
SOC 2 certification is based on five “trust criteria,” which set essential standards for organizations to safeguard the security and quality of their services:

- Availability: ensure continuous service availability and reliability as promised in customer agreements.

What is the difference between SOC 2 Type I and Type II ?
SOC 2 certification comes in two types, primarily distinguished by the scope and duration of the audit:
- SOC 2 Type I: this certification verifies that an organization meets the trust criteria at a specific point in time. It evaluates the design of controls but does not assess their ongoing effectiveness. We have already achieved this since July.
- SOC 2 Type II: this certification, which TypingMind has just achieved, requires a more thorough, ongoing evaluation, typically covering a period of 3 to 12 months. It assesses both the design and operational effectiveness of controls over time, provide a higher level of assurance in the quality and security of services.
